Some of our recent reviews :

"What a fantastic experience! Sarah is an amazing host and my room (as the rest of the house) was gorgeous and prestinly clean. Located only 3min walk from the train station, it was also the perfect location for my trip from London. At arrival, Sarah was waiting for me to checkin. She gave me a warm welcome plus lots of priceless advice about where to go and see in Lake District. Following her advice I had the most epic weekend get away I can remember (the beauty of Lake District also helped!). On top of that, Sarah really went the extra mile by offering delicious breakfast with fresh coffee, homemade jams and bread and other extras like cereals, fruits, butters etc. I am vegan and she also got me soya milk! Such a sweet touch. Not only that, on checkout day she offered I leave my bags there and have a shower after my trek/run so that I was fresh for my train journey back to London. In short, I will definitely go back to Lake District and I will certainly stay at Sarah’s again!"

Our Village

Staveley has a real feeling of life about it and visitors are very much welcomed. It's in a great location for both hill and low level walking, mountain biking and road cycling. It has an excellent pub, The Eagle and Child, Hawkshead Brewery with bar and restaurant, Wheelbase Bikes, three cafes, a grocery shop, Post Office, pharmacy, a tiny roundhouse theatre, and many small and some larger businesses, many of which are located in the Main Street and the Mill Yard. There are regular events held here, from cycling and running events and races, to beer and folk music festivals. There is a C of E Church, football field and children's playground.

Our En-Suite Bedrooms

Our rooms are bright, fresh and uncluttered. We have a double room and two twin rooms so please let us know which you would like. The twin beds are of the zip and link type so can be made into large doubles. In one room there is a third, single bed so we can accommodate three people in that room. Each has a shower room with powerful shower, toilet, hand basin, heated towel rail and underfloor heating.

Tea and coffee making facilities are available on the large communal landing area, and this is where you will take your breakfast. There is one large table and a serve yourself breakfast, so you may find yourself sitting with other guests - perhaps an opportunity to swap stories or ideas for adventures or activities. We keep our prices low and offer a simple breakfast of coffee, tea, cereals, fresh, often home made bread, fresh garden fruit and home made jams and marmalade.Wifi is available in all rooms

You will have keys for your room. Check-in is after 4pm. However, if you would like to drop luggage off earlier in the day this can be arranged. Check-out is 10am.

If you bring your bike we can lock it in our garage overnight.

If your clothes and boots are soaked we will do our best to dry them!

Twin Room with EnSuite

"Perfect place to stay for explorations around the Lakes! Friendly and knowledgable hosts with extensive mountain experience, delicious breakfast to fuel your day ahead and cosy, comfortable beds to collapse into after a day of adventure!"

"Great location, great host, lovely cosy room. Room is actually even nicer than the photos indicate and spotlessly clean. Bed is comfortable (wanted to take it home with me). Train station is 5 minutes away and bus stop nearby connects to Windemere, Kendal etc. Lots of lovely walks literally on the doorstep. Good pub food nearby. Sarah is a very warm friendly host and full of good advice about how to make the most of the area. Just wish we could have stayed longer"
